SiteTell ("we", "us") is a product of Rally Digital. This policy explains what we collect when you use SiteTell, and how that data is handled.
Scanning a site and viewing its report does not require an account, an email, or any personal information. You submit a URL, and we crawl and score the pages of that site. We store the URL, the pages found, and the scan results (score, grade, and the specific flagged text and rules) so we can show you a report, generate a shareable results link, and let you see how a site's score has changed since a previous scan.
A report has no login, so its link is the only way back to it. If you ask us to send that link to yourself, we store the address you typed alongside the scan it was sent for, and the time we sent it. That is the whole use: we send you the one email you asked for. We don't add the address to a marketing list, and we don't email you again about that scan. You can delete it yourself at any time through the link below, whether or not you ever bought anything.
If you unlock fixes or subscribe to the retainer, we collect your email address and hand payment off entirely to Paddle, our payment processor and merchant of record. We never see or store full card numbers. A subscription bills on a recurring basis until you cancel; cancellation is handled entirely inside Paddle's own customer portal, linked from your dashboard.
Fix suggestions are generated by Google's Gemini API. When a results page is opened, one flagged sentence from that scan is sent to produce the free example shown there. After you unlock fixes, each flagged phrase is sent with the sentence around it and the rule that fired; for page-wide issues, such as uneven sentence lengths, the page's text is sent so the advice can refer to it. Google processes this as our sub-processor and does not use it to train its own models.
We don't sell scanned content or personal data to third parties, and we don't use scanned site content to train any AI model.
The SiteTell Chrome extension scores the page you're viewing inside your own browser, using a copy of the same rules this site uses. It doesn't collect page content or browsing data, and it sends nothing to us or anyone else: no page text, no addresses, no scores. It has no account and no analytics.
It stores two things, and both stay on your own machine. One is the last result for each tab, so reopening the extension shows it again. The other is a count of pages you've scored, used once to ask whether you'd leave a review. Removing the extension deletes both. If you follow a link from the extension to this site and run a scan, the rest of this policy applies to that scan in the usual way.
We use PostHog, a privacy-respecting analytics provider, to understand aggregate traffic to this site (for example, which pages are visited). This doesn't identify you personally, and it doesn't run at all until you accept the cookie banner shown on your first visit. You can decline it and browse normally, or change your mind at any time by clearing your browser's site data for this domain.
Scan and report data is processed on the basis of legitimate interest: you submitted the URL and requested the scan, and we process it to generate and show you the report. An address you give us to send a report link to is processed on the same basis, for the single message you asked for. A purchase or subscription is processed on the basis of contract: we need your email and payment details to deliver what you paid for, and to meet our own accounting and tax obligations. Analytics runs only on the basis of consent, given through the cookie banner, and you can withdraw it at any time.
If data protection law where you live gives you rights over your data (for example, under the GDPR), you can ask us to: give you a copy of what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, receive it in a portable format, or object to our processing of it. You can delete your own data, including cancelling any active subscription, at any time from this page, or by emailing george@getsitetell.com. If you're in the EU or UK and not satisfied with our response, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
Scan and report data is kept indefinitely today. There's no automatic deletion after a fixed period. You can request deletion at any time (see Your rights, above), and it happens immediately, not on a timer. We'll update this section if that changes.
We run on infrastructure that may process data outside your own country, including outside the EU/UK: Supabase (database hosting), Paddle (payments), Google (AI fix generation), Brevo (email delivery), and PostHog (analytics). Each of these providers is responsible for its own compliant transfer mechanism.
